A new bar seems to be around the corner for the downtown area.

An liquor license application was recently submitted under the trade name Froste PDX, with the applicant name being Round Peg LLC. This is going in at 701 SW 6th Avenue. It is not indicated if there would be food service for the indoor space.

Right now, listed at this address is The Block sandwich shop. This area has been occupied by food trucks in the past, but in the liquor license outdoor seating for 60 is requested. There will also be no food served outdoors.

The listed owner is Stuart Faris, who is also the co-founder of Uptown Beer Co: Brewery & Bottle Shop at 6620 Schools Ferry Road in Beaverton. It features many hoppy, light, dark and malty, Belgian, and sour beer on tap. It is not confirmed whether Faris will be bringing beers on tap from Uptown to this new location.

Faris told What Now Portland the bar is in the early planning stages right now, and they are shooting for an end of August opening. More details are to follow soon.

The new spot will also be right near the Pioneer Square South light rail station. Across the street is a Potbelly Sandwich Shop. The hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. everyday, and would close earlier for winter weather.
