Kindred Estate Vineyards is bringing a new winery to 9586 Sunflower Road in Wilton, with owner Arrickia McDaniel confirming to What Now Sacramento an anticipated opening in November, according to a pending Winegrower license filed with the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control. This place looks like a great spot for escaping from the city during the weekend!
The vision goes beyond just wine. McDaniel wants Kindred Estate to function as a full agricultural destination, where visitors can explore working farmland, attend seasonal farm experiences, take guided tours, and enjoy locally grown products, all rooted in the region’s rural heritage.
“Our goal is to provide an authentic agricultural experience that celebrates the region’s farming heritage, local wines, and connection to the land,” McDaniel said. “Agriculture will remain the foundation of the property, with hospitality and agritourism experiences designed to complement and support our farming operations.”
Wilton, a small agricultural community in southern Sacramento County about 25 miles southeast of downtown Sacramento, sits in an area quietly building a reputation as a wine destination. The community is surrounded by working farms and rural estates, making it a natural home for a boutique vineyard operation.
The project highlights the rising interest in agritourism destinations where visitors can experience local farming, wineries, and rural hospitality while helping support active agricultural land. This adds gowth to the wine scene in the area. Sacramento County has been steadily attracting new winery ventures in recent years as wine lovers increasingly seek out local alternatives to the more crowded Napa and Sonoma experience.
