Hot Italian is preparing to open a new dine-in restaurant somewhere in Sacramento.

The popular pizzeria recently closed its to-go-only location at 1829 22nd St in Midtown. While owner Fabrizio Cercatore briefly confirmed the news with What Now Sacramento, he declined to share an address or other specifics.

“Good things coming for our Sacramento store!” Cercatore wrote in a recent social media update. “We’re moving to a new location to better serve you. As we transition, we would like to thank you for your continued support as this journey has not been possible without you!”

Hot Italian originally launched in Midtown Sacramento in 2009 and later expanded to Emeryville and Davis. The Davis restaurant shuttered in 2018, followed by closures in Sacramento and Emeryville. Today, Hot Italian operates in San Rafael and Berkeley.

Inspired by European-style fast bars—casual, stylish spots designed for snacks and socializing—Hot Italian offers pizza, panini, gelato, and espresso, along with weekend brunch, curbside take-out, and a curated selection of beer and wine.

Although the address remains under wraps for now, Hot Italian’s website states that the new Sacramento restaurant is expected to open in September 2025.
