Sofi’z Kitchen & Bar is relocating to 800 Bruce Road, Suite 100 in Chico, next to Bellachino’s, with owner Sophia Ahmed announcing the move will occur during August. The new address comes after months of searching and negotiating. The single mother, who has been keeping her small business alive through four years of challenges in an older downtown building, said that signing that lease was a moment she couldn’t wait to share.
“This is a huge step for my small business,” Ahmed wrote in an emotional announcement to her loyal community. “Many of you know that for the past four years, I have faced challenges with air conditioning, plumbing, and the extreme summer heat that comes with operating in an older downtown building. Despite those challenges, you continued to support me, encourage me, and help keep my dream alive.”
The move isn’t about going bigger for the sake of it. Ahmed was clear: this is about giving her customers a better experience and giving her business a real chance to survive and grow. The new location will come with brand-new air conditioning, plenty of parking, and a space that can actually handle the demands of a growing restaurant.
Sofiz Kitchen and Bar, has built a devoted following in Chico’s Butte County community, drawing regulars who have shown up through every setback the restaurant has faced. Now Ahmed is asking for that same support one more time as she covers the costs of the move and completes improvements at the new location ahead of the August opening.
