Beauty Bungalows is taking over the former Meissner Sewing and Vacuum Centers space in Roseville, with franchisee Sandy Hirschel targeting an October opening at 9250 Fairway Drive in the Fairway Creek Shopping Center. The Meissner Sewing location had operated there for a decade before closing in May.
Beauty Bungalows began in 2017 in Huntington Beach, building a franchise model that rents out individual salon suites to beauty and wellness entrepreneurs rather than running the business as a traditional salon. The company now has locations across California, Texas and Florida. Roseville already has one Beauty Bungalows near Sunrise Avenue and Cirby Way, though Hirschel confirmed that location is corporate-owned and separate from his franchise.
Hirschel plans to build out about 30 premium salon suites for hairstylists, makeup artists and estheticians to rent, with amenities included like towels, while tenants handle their own supplies and client bookings. “The goal is to help those entrepreneurs or stylists bring their business to the next level,” Hirschel said, according to the Sacramento Business Journal.
Before franchising Beauty Bungalows, Hirschel worked in marketing in Silicon Valley before relocating to Granite Bay with his family about two years ago. He purchased the 9250 Fairway Drive building in April for 2.765 million dollars, financed through a Small Business Administration loan and a commercial bank loan.
The building spans about 7,700 square feet total. Beauty Bungalows will occupy 6,000 square feet, combining the former Meissner space with an adjoining empty unit, while the building’s other tenant, Wayback Burgers, will remain open. Hirschel said he hopes to expand to two additional locations down the road.
