Crispy Cones is preparing to expand into San Antonio with a new location planned for 18130 San Pedro Ave., Suite 100, at Northwoods.
According to Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation records, the upcoming Crispy Cones is part of a 1,233-square-foot tenant finish-out at the Northwoods development. The project, listed under TABS2027001515, has an estimated construction cost of $100,000, with work scheduled to begin October 1 and be completed by February 1, 2027.
Adniel Orense, who is listed as the tenant for the project, confirmed to What Now San Antonio that he is the franchise owner behind the upcoming location. Orense said the project is still in its early stages and that he is not available for an interview at this time.
Crispy Cones is a dessert concept founded by Jeremy and Kaitlyn Carlson in 2018. The brand specializes in a European-inspired dessert featuring fresh dough that is grilled rotisserie-style and coated with cinnamon and sugar or other specialty toppings. The finished cone can be filled with spreads, gourmet soft-serve ice cream, fruit and additional toppings.
The concept gained national attention after appearing on ABC’s Shark Tank, where the founders secured a deal with investor Barbara Corcoran. According to Corcoran’s website, the brand began by selling the Czech-inspired dessert from a roadside tent in Idaho before expanding into storefronts and franchising.
Crispy Cones began franchising in 2022 and has continued expanding through franchise locations across the country. The company’s current location directory lists restaurants in several states, including Texas, where it has a location in Conroe and an Austin location listed as coming soon.
The San Antonio location will bring the dessert concept to the Northwoods development, adding another option for customers seeking soft-serve and specialty desserts in the area.
The project is being designed by XA Collective, a San Antonio-based design firm. Construction is privately funded by the tenant, according to the TDLR filing.
An opening date for the San Antonio Crispy Cones has not yet been announced.
