Better Buzz Coffee Company, a San Diego-based coffee chain known for its espresso drinks and cafe concept, is getting ready to open a new location in El Cajon at 733 Fletcher Parkway.
The company recently submitted documents to the San Diego Department of Environmental Health and Quality for the site, which currently operates as a Panera Bread. A lease brochure for the property confirms that the 4,500-square-foot drive-thru building is being offered for lease as part of Fletcher Crossing. An exact opening date has not been announced. Customers can expect Better Buzz’s lineup of coffee, specialty beverages, and cafe food in a drive-thru format.
The El Cajon location will be directly across from Parkway Plaza, at the intersection of Fletcher Parkway and Johnson Avenue. The lease brochure describes the surrounding area as a densely populated trade area along a high-traffic street. Nearby major tenants include Walmart, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Marshalls, Burlington, Ulta, and Home Depot.
The new site adds to Better Buzz’s continued expansion across San Diego County. The company has recently been linked to proposed locations in Vista and San Marcos, with What Now San Diego previously reporting on both projects. The Vista location is proposed for the current Del Taco at 1650 S Melrose Dr., while the San Marcos project is expected to take over a KFC space at 201 S. Rancho Santa Fe Road.
Better Buzz operates cafes throughout San Diego County, including locations in Mission Gorge, Miramar, Hillcrest, La Mesa, Mira Mesa, Pacific Beach, La Jolla, Coronado, Encinitas, Escondido, and other communities. The company also operates locations in both cafe and drive-thru formats, depending on the property.
The menu includes espresso drinks such as lattes, cappuccinos, Americanos, macchiatos, and cortados, along with specialty beverages including the Best Drink Ever, Killer Bee, and Hazelnut Divinity. Food offerings include breakfast sandwiches, wraps, avocado toast, acai bowls, yogurt bowls, and pastries. The El Cajon location will add another drive-thru site to Better Buzz’s growing footprint in the San Diego area.
