Charlie Royal has opened its first brick-and-mortar coffee shop at Eppig Brewing’s Waterfront Biergarten in Point Loma, marking a new step for the San Diego-born business as it explores additional locations through a partnership with Finest City Beverages.

The shop is located at 2817 Dickens St. Grant Tondro, Charlie Royal co-founder and Executive Vice President of Hospitality at Finest City Beverages, told What Now San Diego that the partners are considering potential locations near downtown San Diego’s waterfront and Harbor Island.

North County is also on their radar, although the team wants to establish the Point Loma location before pursuing another shop.

“We want Point Loma to be the model for everything that comes next,” Tondro said.

Tondro founded Charlie Royal with Nick Martin, rhythm guitarist for Sleeping With Sirens. The two have been friends for years and started the business during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Point Loma shop represents their first move into a brick-and-mortar operation. Finest City Beverages, meanwhile, is the San Diego beverage and hospitality group behind brands including Latitude 33 Brewing, Eppig Brewing, Thorn Brewing and Mason Ale Works.

The partnership connects Charlie Royal’s coffee concept with the group’s broader interest in developing public-facing venues. The menu features traditional coffee drinks alongside Charlie Royal’s Royal Elixirs, a specialty beverage lineup.

Operating inside Eppig‘s waterfront beer garden, the shop adds a morning coffee option to the Point Loma destination.

As What Now San Diego previously reported, Finest City Beverages took shape after Latitude Brewing acquired the House of Mason Beverage Collective portfolio in December 2025.

The acquisition expanded the group’s collection of beverage brands and hospitality operations. For now, Tondro said, the focus remains on making the Point Loma shop successful before committing to additional locations.
