Jon & Vinny’s, the popular Italian-American restaurant chain found throughout Los Angeles, is looking to open its first location in San Diego at 303 Spruce Street.

The company’s recently submitted documentation for its sixth location, just a few blocks away from Balboa Park, according to the San Diego Department of Environmental Health and Quality. The submission proves the company is interested in expanding into the San Diego market for the first time. Known for its laid-back yet stylish atmosphere, Jon & Vinny’s is expected to offer an inviting space for casual dining and a menu highlighting their famous pizzas, pastas, and more. While an exact opening date is unknown, this is an exciting development for San Diego food lovers who have long waited for the restaurant to land in the city.

Jon & Vinny’s menu will feature an array of classic Italian-American comfort food, including signature dishes such as pepperoni pizza, spaghetti and meatballs, and their popular breakfast pizza. In addition to these crowd-pleasers, customers can enjoy various pastries, sandwiches, and specialty coffee drinks. Jon & Vinny’s interior will likely retain its signature modern yet cozy vibe, with bright, contemporary decor designed to make guests feel right at home. It will become the perfect spot for a casual meal or a fun outing with friends and family.

Founded by chefs Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo, Jon & Vinny’s is a staple in the Los Angeles dining scene. The duo is also known for its other successful restaurants, such as Animal Restaurant and Son of a Gun, both of which are closed. Since its debut, Jon & Vinny’s has expanded to multiple locations in LA, including West Hollywood, Fairfax, The Grove, and Santa Monica, as well as a residency in Miami’s Rubell Museum, and previously in Las Vegas at The Venetian. Their potential San Diego debut is significant, as this is the first time the company is venturing into this market, further cementing its growth and popularity across the West Coast.
