Margaritaville is planning a huge new addition to its portfolio by way of a luxury hotel in San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter. SanDiegoVille shared an update on the new hotel’s plans.

Originally planned for a 2021 debut according to BuffetNews, Margaritaville will transform the former Solamar Hotel into its signature beachgoer vibes. The planned renovation by Pebblebrook Hotel Trust in partnership with Solamar’s parent company Davidson Hospitality Group will reportedly ring in at $20 Million.

Flip flop, you don’t stop. In addition to the hotel, the company also has Margaritaville Island Resort planned for America’s Finest City. The expansive resort will replace other Pebblebrook property Paradise Point Resort in Mission Bay.

Featuring 235 guest rooms, Margaritaville Hotel will bring signature Margaritaville food and beverage concepts to San Diego. Solamar’s JSix restaurant will convert to LandShark Bar & Grill, serving up contemporary American cuisine with a beachy twist. The Solamar’s poolside rooftop retreat, Upper East Bar, will set the clocks ahead as 5 o’Clock Somewhere. The hip lounge and outdoor dining area will host daily live entertainment and service the pool area with day beds and cabanas.

Davidson Hospitality Group is currently seeking staff to fill positions in the updated restaurants and on-site cafes and bars. Margaritaville Hotel is scheduled to open in July 2023. Stay updated on the project by visiting the Website
