Dollar Tree, a discount retailer offering food, household goods, seasonal merchandise, and everyday essentials, is preparing to open a new location at 13345 Poway Road in Poway.
The company recently submitted documents to the San Diego County Department of Environmental Health and Quality to open in the former home of Grocery Outlet in Poway Plaza. An exact opening date has not been announced. Customers can expect the store to carry Dollar Tree’s selection of consumable, variety, and seasonal merchandise.
Dollar Tree operates more than 9,000 stores across the United States and Canada, with more than 153,000 associates and 16 distribution centers as of January 2026. The company’s stores carry a wide range of products, including snacks, food, cleaning supplies, health and beauty products, toys, party supplies, craft items, household goods, and seasonal décor.
The retailer has expanded its product assortment at more than 6,000 stores, adding price points above $1.25 alongside its existing selection. The expanded assortment allows Dollar Tree to offer customers more choices across its stores, including everyday necessities and seasonal items.
Dollar Tree also operates an online store where customers can purchase products by the case, with some items available in smaller quantities. The company offers free shipping to participating local stores for pickup, as well as direct shipping and same-day local delivery from more than 8,400 store locations.
The new Poway location will bring Dollar Tree’s retail concept to the former Grocery Outlet space at 13345 Poway Road. Further details about the store, including its opening date, have not been announced yet.
