Pure Project has officially secured the former Iron Fist Brewing facility on Hops Highway in Vista, where they plan to re-establish their production headquarters and open a 15-barrel brewhouse. The 13,850 square feet building at 1305 Hot Spring Way will soon house Pure Project’s small-batch sustainable brewing process, as well as indoor and outdoor tasting rooms.
What Now San Diego spoke with co-founder Mat Robar about their upcoming North Park Expansion earlier this month. When asked about the company’s continual growth despite the pandemic, Robar pointed to the brand’s loyal following.
“We’ve been really humbled by the outpouring of support from people who are still coming to our brewery and buying things to go,” Robar said.
Pure Project plans to roll out the transition in two phases. After they open for to-go beer sales in March, they will begin building out a tasting room. According to a press release, the Vista taproom should be ready to open in late summer, 2021.
The Miramar tasting room will remain open throughout the transition to Vista, and Pure Project will continue to develop sours in a nearby facility. However, the company’s administrative staff plan on relocating their offices to Vista.
After the new headquarters is up and running, Pure Project plans to extend their barrel-aging program by building a grain silo in their Vista brewery.
“We are excited about the opportunity to own our own brewery as we look to the future,” Robar said in a press release. “With nearly 20 other craft breweries nearby, Vista provides an ideal community for us to relocate and scale our operations.”
Those surrounding breweries include Belching Beaver, Helia Brewing, BattleMage, Eppig Brewing and many more. With this expansion, Pure Project plans to triple its output to 10,000 barrels per year.
