The New York City-based American fast-casual restaurant chain Shake Shack is opening a new location in Downtown San Diego at 900 Fourth Avenue, Site #4.
The company’s sixth San Diego location is expected to move into a new development near Horton Plaza Park, across from Balboa Theater, according to a recent filing from the San Diego Department of Environmental Health and Quality. While there is no exact opening date, Shake Shake will move into a space alongside Sweetgreen. This site will help alleviate the Little Italy Shake Shack, which is often swarmed with crowds on the weekend.
The company can also be found in Del Mar, UTC, Mission Valley, and Westfield Plaza in Bonita. All locations feature delicious burgers from 100% Angus beef topped with cheese, lettuce, tomato, and ShackSauce on a toasted potato bun. In addition to burgers, the eatery also offers a variety of milkshakes, as the name implies. Earlier this month, Shake Shack announced it is releasing three limited-time shakes in partnership with DreamWorks’ new movie, ‘Trolls Band Together.’
The restaurant has kept up with the competition since opening in 2001 as a hot dog cart inside Madison Square Park by constantly updating the menu, keeping fan favorites, and adding new twists. Recently, Shake Shack partnered with Christopher and Martina Kostow in Northern California to offer a unique take on our menu influenced by their new concept, Loveski Deli. For one day, the restaurant offered a smoked cod sandwich, dill pickle fries, and a chocolate hazelnut babka sundae. Proceeds from each collaboration menu item sold were donated directly to The Cameron Thompson Legacy Scholarship.
