Heavy Restaurant Group is planning a new concept for 3400 Stone Way N. in Seattle, replacing the former Purple Café and Wine Bar in the Fremont/Wallingford area.
Purple closed the Stone Way restaurant on August 1 after the company said the location was not generating enough sales to remain viable. In announcing the closure, Heavy Restaurant Group said it planned to bring a new concept to the space this fall.
CEO Larry Kurofsky confirmed the plans to What Now Seattle but said the company is still working out the details. Heavy Restaurant Group has not yet announced the name, menu, or other details of the upcoming concept.
Purple opened its first restaurant in Woodinville in 2001. The brand still operates two locations: one at 14459 Woodinville-Redmond Road NE in Woodinville and another at 1225 4th Ave. in downtown Seattle.
Heavy Restaurant Group also operates Pablo y Pablo, Hal’s Sports Bar, and Hushy’s Sandwiches.
