Rome + Fig Global Bistro will permanently close at the end of June. After six years of business, the trendy restaurant and bar will serve its last dinner on Sunday, June 28. The restaurant team announced the closure with a social media post.
Rome + Fig’s Six-Year Run Comes to an End
Located in the heart of North Hyde Park in Tampa, Rome + Fig Global Bistro has been a community staple since 2020. The restaurant is operated by chef-owner Eric Zostant and his wife, Kristine Zostant.
The restaurant serves a menu of classic and globally inspired dishes with a modern twist. The space features cozy coastal-chic vibes with an open kitchen and vintage community tables. Menu offerings include tuna tartare, Asian wings, and lamb chops.
In an Instagram post on June 18, the team behind the restaurant said, “Join us for our final two weeks. After six unforgettable years, we have made the difficult decision to close the doors of Rome + Fig.”

Reflecting on the restaurant’s six-year run, the team added, “What began as a dream became so much more than a restaurant. It became a place where friendships were formed, milestones were celebrated, first dates turned into marriages, and countless memories were shared around our tables.”
The team encourages its customers to visit the restaurant and enjoy their favorite meal one last time before it closes.
Community Responses on Social Media
Following the announcement, customers shared messages of disappointment on social media. One of the customers commented, “This makes me so sad! I have spent some of the most important celebrations of my life with you guys! We will never forget the kindness and support you have shown us! You will be missed.”
The post also included an updated schedule for the restaurant’s final two weeks of operation. In the post, the restaurant team hinted that “the restaurant industry is filled with challenges, but despite them, we consider ourselves fortunate to have spent the last six years serving this amazing community.”
As the restaurant prepares to close, the team expressed gratitude for the support it received from the Tampa community over the past six years.
