Founded in Richardson, Texas, in 2021 Arwa Yemeni Coffee has been expanding in states as far-flung as California, Illinois, and Connecticut. The Yemeni coffee franchise now boasts about a dozen locations, and the growth is continuing, as the cafe is preparing to make its Tampa Bay debut in Temple Terrace, with a new location planned for 8633 N 56th St, Suite 4, according to submitted plan review documents.
“Arwa Yemeni Coffee was established as a way to share the rich Yemeni culture…” says the Arwa website. “As a family with deep roots in and fond memories of Yemen, we have a passion bringing awareness and amplifying the beauty of our homeland.”
In addition to classic espresso-based coffee drinks, Arwa Yemeni Coffee’s menu features traditional beverages like Jubani, a specialty brewed coffee with coffee husks and spices like cinnamon, ginger, and cardamom; Mofawer, which is served with plenty of milk and lots of cardamom; and Qishr, a hot drink made from spiced coffee husks and ginger.
Opening in the North 56th Street location, Arwa Yemeni Coffee will join a restaurant community that includes Gaspar’s Patio Bar & Grill, Zen Noodle Bar, Crumbl, Checkers, more.
What Now reached out to franchisee Erum Khan on Friday to ask about plans for the opening. Khan was not immediately available for comment.
