The Home Depot is expanding its U.S. footprint this year with 12 new stores. Three of them have already opened, in Leander, TX, Buckeye, AZ, and Naples, FL, a representative told What Now this week.
“The Home Depot is expanding its U.S. footprint with 12 new stores and more than 1.6 million square feet of retail space across eight states in 2026,” says a recent press announcement by the company. “As the nation faces a critical need for new housing and the upkeep of aging homes, this growth will create thousands of career opportunities and boost local economies from the Southern California coast to the Florida peninsula.”
Among these 12 is a new location planned for Inverness. The Inverness Home Depot is working towards a Fall 2026 launch, and while the company’s announcement does not include a specific address, the careers page on the Home Depot website appears to place the upcoming store at 1067 E Gulf to Lake Hwy.
“We’re excited about all of the progress we’ve made in our stores,” said Ann-Marie Campbell, Senior Executive Vice President, in the announcement. “And our efforts are paying off. In 2025, our customer satisfaction scores increased every quarter, and our tenure with hourly associates is the highest it’s been since 2017.”
