Bijou Restaurant, a long-standing Stratford dining concept, is preparing to relocate to the former Revival House property at 70 Brunswick Street, with the new concept set to open as Bijou at the Church.

The transition follows the closure of Revival House, a restaurant, event venue, and live music space that operated in a former church building known for its preserved chapel-like interior, according to Insauga. The building is now being taken over by Bijou Restaurant, which has operated in Stratford for about 27 years. While a reopening date has been set for July 24, the team is currently completing a major renovation and refit of the space. Customers can expect continued dining and hospitality in the historic building, along with updated service under the Bijou at the Church name.

Bijou announced the move publicly and confirmed that it is currently accepting reservations beginning July 24, once operations resume. The restaurant also noted that it has been coordinating with guests who previously held reservations at Revival House to ensure a smooth transition. Hiring is also underway, with the team actively recruiting cooks for both full-time and part-time roles as the reopening approaches.

The relocation carries forward a long history tied to the Brunswick Street property, which has previously been home to well-known hospitality concepts. The building’s church architecture and interior design elements are expected to remain defining features of the new restaurant experience. Bijou at the Church is being framed as both a continuation of Bijou’s long-standing presence in Stratford and a new chapter for the historic venue.

Revival House operated as a multifaceted space combining dining, live music, and private events, attracting both locals and visitors to its unique setting. Its closure marks the end of one era for the venue, while Bijou’s move signals a new direction for the space under established local ownership. The shift also reflects ongoing changes within Stratford’s hospitality landscape, where legacy operators continue to evolve.
