Tigerbaby Coffee & Clay, a pottery studio and specialty coffee shop, is getting ready to open a new location in Toronto’s Brockton Village neighborhood at 977 College Street.
The company’s first permanent location is scheduled to open on Saturday, August 15, according to BlogTO and the business’s website. The new space brings together a retail shop, a specialty coffee café, and pottery classes under one roof. Customers can expect specialty coffee, handmade ceramics, and workshops designed for a range of experience levels.
Before opening its storefront, Tigerbaby operated as a small business selling handmade pottery, including cups, mugs, vases, and ornaments, alongside locally roasted coffee. The team also hosted pottery workshops at temporary locations throughout Toronto, including the founders’ garage and Boxcar Social.
Tigerbaby describes itself as Toronto’s first pottery studio and specialty coffee shop, according to the company’s website. The new location includes separate studios for hand building and wheel throwing, allowing the business to offer multiple class formats while also operating a full-time café and retail space. Coffee bar seating and ceramic sales will be available during regular business hours, while pottery classes will follow scheduled booking times.
The pottery program includes beginner-friendly single-session workshops as well as longer multi-week courses. One-time, three-hour classes are priced at approximately $100, while four- and eight-week programs range from about $280 to $650, depending on the course. All materials and firings are included with the classes, according to the company’s website.
The café will serve a rotating selection of specialty coffees, seasonal drinks, and pastries, while also showcasing the company’s handmade ceramic collection. Customers can also stop in simply for coffee without participating in a class. This will be an excellent landing space for Tigerbaby Coffee & Clay, bringing together coffee, ceramics, and retail in one location within Brockton Village.
“Our pottery studio & coffee shop is finally opening!” according to the company’s Instagram announcement. “We’re throwing a party to celebrate our grand opening!
