Gaithersburg residents wondering what will fill the void left by Ted’s Montana Grill earlier this year finally have an answer. Hawkers Asian Street Fare is taking over the space, bringing authentic Asian dining to its second Montgomery County location, reports MoCo Show.
Ted’s Montana Grill ceased operations at 105 Ellington Boulevard in January of this year. The restaurant had been a Downtown Crown institution for over ten years, but now Hawkers Asian Street Fare will be reviving the space with new purpose and new cuisine.
Hawkers has signed a lease for the 5,228 square foot space, but little information regarding a timeline is available beyond that.
Hawkers is not a complete stranger to Montgomery County; the concept has another location open and serving satisfied customers in Bethesda.
Hawkers’ menu features a wide range of delicious Asian dishes, including dim sum, noodles, rice and curry, and soups. The website provides this taste of what the restaurant has in store for Gaithersburg diners: “Asian street food is special. The flavors are bold and unapologetic, the recipes are passed down from generation to generation, and the wok technique is unparalleled. The best Asian street food mesmerizes all five senses: sight, smell, sound, touch, and of course, taste.”
