Public School 404 Has Permanently Shuttered

In addition to our normal news coverage, What Now Atlanta is tracking ways Atlanta’s businesses are adapting to the novel coronavirus and the challenges it brings to brick-and-mortars.

Public School 404 has permanently closed its West Midtown doors after roughly three years in business.

Brandy Ramsey, the restaurant’s general manager, Monday confirmed the news in an email to What Now Atlanta (WNA).

Ramsey said Public School 404’s last day was Friday, May 15 and that the decision to shutter was “COVID-19 related.”

Public School 404 joins a growing list of Atlanta-area restaurants that in recent days have permanently closed citing financial hardship brought on by temporarily shutting down early-April in an effort to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus.

Parent company Grill Concepts, INC. did not immediately respond to WNA’s request for comment.

The gastropub first opened its doors on the ground-level of The Brady Apartments, at 930 Howell Mill Rd NW, in 2017.

Remaining outposts of the restaurant are in California, Texas, Colorado, and Las Vegas.
