Chef/Owner Priscilla Curiel of Tuetano Taqueria in San Ysidro is ready to take their Birria-style tacos from the Border to Old Town.

Popularized by Tijuana tradition, Birria has made a solid impression on San Diego taco lovers and has built a devoted following for its indulgent slow-cooked beef and consomé dipping broth.

Eater SD originally covered the news that Tuetano will be relocating to the newly-curated block of restaurants at the Old Town Urban Market.

What Now San Diego reached out directly to Tuetano Taqueria for comment on the move but did not receive a response. According to the OT Urban Market website, the updated Miranda Courtyard will host spaces for gelato, coffee, pizza, wine, and tacos.

An exact opening date for Tuetano Taqueria in Old Town has yet to be announced.
