Crave Hospitality Group, an Idaho-based restaurant group founded by Chef Scott Howard, restaurateur Barry Werner and tech entrepreneur Devin Wade, are looking to open a ghost kitchen in Chandler.
The kitchen, according to recent reporting by Mouth By Southwest, will house 15,000 square feet and is slated to move into the southwest corner of Cooper and Yeager, just north of the airport.
While the specific concepts have yet to be announced, the idea of a ghost kitchen is to house several restaurants under one facility. Although the general idea behind ghost kitchens is for delivery and pickup, the upcoming Chandler location will also have some indoor and outdoor seating.
Those familiar with ghost kitchens in the area might also already know about the Kitchen United Mix in Scottsdale and the Tempe Food Court in Tempe, but the idea is to save on costs while maintaining the integrity of the food.
Earlier this year, the hospitality group scored $7.3 million in funding to bring four more ghost kitchens with an additional 10 to follow afterward. Initial locations include the one in Chandler, as well as Denver, Colorado and Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas.
As of now, no official opening date has been set, but the Chandler location is slated to open sometime in spring 2022.
