88 Bao Bao, a Dublin-based dim sum restaurant has signed the lease for a space in The Davis Collection. This news was first seen in Sacramento Business Journal. The location is anticipated to open by the end of 2024 or at the beginning of 2025.

88 Bao Bao is owned by serial restaurateur Xiang Qiu Lin, who also operates a few other restaurants in the Bay Area, including Ramen 101, previously reported by What Now San Francisco, and Hawaiian Grill Express. The brand highlights a wide variety of steamed and boiled dumplings, steamed and pan fried buns, potstickers, and rice and noodle entrees. The restaurant also sells frozen dumplings and boba tea.

According to leasing materials, 88 Bao Bao will occupy the 1,310-sqft Ste 116, nestled between Shah’s Halal Food and Urban Plates. The center’s construction has begun by the end of last year and is anticipated to be completed around mid-2025.

Broker Tuan Nguyen of KW Commercial represented the restaurant in the deal. Nguyen mentioned to the Business Journal that the chain “could continue to expand its presence in the greater Sacramento market” and that he had been evaluating a few additional locations.
