Mario’s Early Toast has leased a space in Higgins Marketplace off Combie Rd and Highway 49. The new restaurant is anticipated to open in May 2025. This news was first seen in the Sacramento Business Journal.
Higgins Marketplace is a commercial shopping center and also serves as a village square. The center is anchored by a Holiday Market and mainly consists of retail businesses including a CVS pharmacy. The center is also home to a Starbucks location, a frozen yogurt shop called Culture Shock Yogurt, and Java Dream Coffee Roasterds.
“The reason I took that project was because there’s absolutely nothing in that area that can compare to what we do, so I think it is really needed there,” Mario Astorga, founder and president of Mario’s Early Toast, told the Business Journal.
The restaurant will fill in a space in the same building with an El Dorado Savings Bank branch. Since the space was never previously occupied, the project will require a full build-out, setting the anticipated opening time at late spring/early summer of 2025.
Mario’s Early Toast is also working on opening a new location in El Dorado Hills, as reported here.
