Chef Virgil Harper, the talent behind Roc South Cuisine and Cocktail, appears to be working on a new concept. The restaurant, currently doing business as Toast On Lenox, will open up on 2770 Lenox Road. This location, in Buckhead’s Lenox Village, previously housed Adobo Tacos & Tapas.
Harper requested an alcohol license with the city of Atlanta for the Lenox Village address and will make their case in front of the Neighborhood Planning Unit on December 1. Toast On Lenox will likely operate during regular breakfast, brunch, and lunch hours of 6 am to 4 pm on Monday through Friday and 8 am to 4 pm on Saturday and Sunday. Toast On Lenox will sit near Garnet Gal’s Coffee Shop and Bakery, which opened up in the space previously occupied by Mae’s Bakery after it closed in November 2019 to operate under a new production facility business model.
Harper’s Roc South Cuisine and Cocktail first opened up shop in fall 2019, not long before the COVID pandemic hit. Despite this, the restaurant flourished and still stands strong. Harper, who originally hailed from Atlantic City, NJ working at The Borgota Hotel, quickly made a name for themselves — eventually preparing a private dinner for U.S. President-elect Joe Biden while he was Vice President, according to Roc South’s website.
