Discount grocer Lidl could open a second ITP outpost. Commercial real estate developer Captial City told the Atlanta Business Chronicle (ABC) it had a letter of intent (LOI) from the rapidly-expanding chain for its planned medical offices mixed-use, at 272 Ponce De Leon Ave NE. Capital City’s Aaron Fortner told the ABC the planned Lidl would be the “only affordable grocery option in the Old Fourth Ward neighborhood and Midtown.”
Capital City in August announced that JLL had been tapped to lease the office portion of the development, aptly named Midtown Medical. At the time of the announcement, Capital City said the project would be anchored by a grocer but did not disclose its discussions with Lidl. Reps for JLL on Wednesday confirmed the news with WNA.
Lidl has one existing storefront within I-285 and sources familiar with the matter tell WNA that Lidl is also looking at Underground Atlanta for a future location, joining a planned Target in the recently-acquired downtown development.
Midtown Medical is poised to redevelop a series of lowrise commercial buildings into a seven-story, 150,000-square-foot mixed-use community. Most of the available space would be leased to medical offices. In addition to Lidl, Capital City is planning other street-level retail and a ground-floor atrium including a cafe area.

There is another one at Briarcliff/NDruid Hills.
That’s the “one existing” ITP store. My bet is that one relocates as soon as possible. The building is way too small.
Hmmm……..what happened to the proposed location they were planning on Memorial Drive? Did they scrap that one?
The Kirkwood store is supposed to open in 2021.
