Distillery of Modern Art (DoMA) is set to open its doors this fall in Chamblee two-and-a-half years after plans for the distillery, gallery, event space, and cocktail lounge were first announced, according to a press release Wednesday.

DoMA, designed by What Now Atlanta Preferred Partner Vickers Design Group, announced in January it would open in May, but never did. A reason for the delay was not disclosed.

“Guest are invited to immerse themselves in this purpose-driven concept which showcases art in all its many forms and challenges them to leave their perceptions at the door,” according to the release. “Going beyond what’s in the bottle, the 15,000 square foot space is a modern art gallery whose walls feature local artists and installations- several of which are utilized for DoMA’s bottle art.”

Centralized by a bar, Distillery of Modern Art’s “master mixologists” will create signature cocktails using one of the house-created spirits, often pulling garnishes from the living wall garden adjacent to the lounge. There’s also a 2,800 square-foot private event space.

DoMA will distill and serve an Atlanta Vodka, Peach Flavored Vodka made with Georgia-grown peaches, Bourbon Whiskey, Corn Whiskey, Rye Whiskey, Nouveau Gin, and a Digestivo.

“I am an instigator. I live to inspire those around me,” Seth Watson, DoMA’s founder, said. “I want to facilitate creativity in all possible ways. I like to be a dreamer but what I like more is allowing dreamers to bring ideas to reality.”

DoMA will offer Tour & Tasting bookings that run daily from noon to 3 p.m. for $15 per guest. “The interactive, step-by-step walkthrough of the distillation process is a riveting activity-friendly for friends, family, and co-workers,” according to the release. For larger parties, guests can take advantage of either the 735-square foot Kandinsky Tasting Room, 861-square foot Watson Gallery, or 2,800-square foot Rothko Room.
