A brand new restaurant is currently making its way to Bleecker Street this year, and it promises to offer whatever you could want morning or night.

Two Smoking Barrels is a brand new restaurant from partners Jo Ellen Gabel, Jon Gabel, Jim George, and John O’Connor. Jo Ellen and Job Gabel are best known has the principals of Coming Soon Food Group, a quick service restaurant brand incubator that has brought to life popular New York concepts like Zazzy’s Pizza and Innocent Yesterday. John O’Connor meanwhile is the founder of FB Hospitality Group and most recently served as the Director of Hospitality at Sushi By Bou on 32nd Street.

Two Smoking Barrels is envisioned by the team as a “restaurant/cafe/lounge serving American fare,” and will be opening up at 643 Broadway, AKA 75 Bleecker Street. The restaurant will be replacing Bleecker Kitchen, a popular brunch and cocktail lounge that was established in 2013. The location is rather spacious and boasts a total of 6,560 square feet between the ground floor, cellar, and sub cellar. The location is expected to comfortably seat about 108 guests with an additional 18 seat standing bar in the cellar.

Two Smoking Barrels will feature two different concepts in one central space. The ground floor will function as a cafe and restaurant and will feature its own quick-service bakery counter. The ground floor cafe is expected to operate from 8:00 AM10:00 PM Sunday through Wednesday, and 8:00 AM12:00 AM Thursday through Saturday. The cellar meanwhile will function as an exclusive lounge that will operate daily from 4:00 PM 4:00 AM, seven days a week. The team is currently applying for a full liquor license for the space and are also requesting approval to host live music and DJ’s in the lounge. To assuage potentially concerned locals, the team has hired a professional sound engineer to ensure that the lounge is adequately soundproofed. Unfortunately, the restaurant is still too early into development to have its own social media presence at this point, so you will just need to stay alert for further updates.
