An exciting new Greek restaurant is currently getting ready to open up in Greenwich Village later this year.
Yiannis Vasilas is a well-established New York-based entrepreneur. Together with his business partner Antonia Joannides, the two established The Queens Room in 2017. Based out of Astoria Queens, The Queens Room celebrated Joannides’ Cypriot ancestry with a Mediterranean menu from chef Mike DeVito. Together, Yiannis and Antonia transformed the space into a neighborhood staple and are now preparing to bring their talents back to Manhattan with a brand new restaurant.
The new restaurant, which has yet to be officially titled, will be moving into the space at 9 Jones Street. Currently operating under the corporate name No-Thing Group, the restaurant will be replacing Voula, between West 4th Street and Bleecker Street. A popular Greek restaurant that opened up in 2017, Voula sadly failed to reopen after shutting down during the pandemic.
Thankfully, Yiannis and his team are reviving the space with an exciting new concept. The new restaurant is described as a “Greek restaurant that offers great food, an inventive cocktail program, and a relaxed, yet trendy atmosphere for its guests.” The location offers about 1,300 square feet of space on the ground floor, enabling the restaurant to seat a total of 92 guests at one time between the interior, bar, and planned sidewalk café.
With an exciting cocktail program program up his sleeve, Yiannis is currently in the process of applying for a full restaurant liquor license. He is currently proposing operating hours of 10:00 AM – 11:00 PM from Sunday to Tuesday, 10:00 AM – 12:00 AM Wednesday and Thursday, and 10:00 AM – 1:00 AM Friday and Saturday. Yiannis and his team are still very earl into development and are currently decorating the space and adding new greenery to match their vision. While the restaurant has yet to be officially announced and titled, you should keep an eye on the space for further signs of development.
