Kiko, a 75-seat a la carte restaurant previously operating as a pop-up in Los Angeles, is preparing to open its doors at 307 Spring Street, a location that housed the beloved Georgione for two decades. This news comes from Eater New York.
Kiko is from Lina Goujjane and Alex Chang, according to Eater. Goujjane, associated with the Michelin-starred Sushi Noz, comes from a family whose history in the restaurant industry includes the creation and eventual sale of One If By Land Two If By Sea.
Chang’s resume includes Alex Chang’s Vagabond Restaurant and Taqueria Hoja in Miami, and The Exchange in Los Angeles.
Kiko promises to offer a “New American menu with Asian influences, inspired by Chang’s Chinese heritage and his father’s upbringing in Japan,” Eater reports. For a rendering of Kiko and more detailed information about the opening, read Eater’s thoughtful coverage here.
Kiko is set to open in June 2024, Chang in an email told What Now New York.
The Georgione space was listed for rent in July 2023, according to a Loopnet listing, with an asking rent of $30,000 per month with a ten to 15 year lease.
The “full turn-key” space offers 2,500 square feet on the ground-floor and 1,500 square feet on the lower level.
