Alohana Açaí Bowls, formerly known as Aloha Acai Bowls and smoothies, is getting ready to open a new location in Oceanside at 1810 Rancho Del Oro Rd.

The company’s seventh location is set to move into a brand new mixed-use development near Frontwave Arena, called the Arroyo Verde Shopping Center, according to documentation submitted to the San Diego Department of Environmental Health and Quality. Co-owner Pete McAfee tells What Now San Diego that this new location is expected to open in February 2025. Customers can expect the same refreshing acai bowls found at the company’s other sites.

The upcoming shopping center will be a 27,200 sq. ft. four-building project located on 4.85 acres at the northeast corner of Oceanside Boulevard and Ranch del Oro Rd. So far, a handful of tenants have already signed on for the development, including The Habit Burger Grill, Allen Orthodontics, and Tacos Don Paco. Now Aloha Açai Bowls is set to move into the development early next year, bringing the area a variety of delicious and healthy acai bowls.

This is a massive accomplishment for the company, founded by McAfee and Robert O’Quinn. The two spent 20+ years working in the action sports industry before deciding to open Aloha Acai Bowls in 2015 via a small food trailer. Eventually, the two partners opened brick-and-mortar, with McAfee leading the San Diego territory and O’Quinn taking on the Orange County market. Since opening, the duo has launched a handful of brick-and-mortar, including three in San Diego and three in Orange County. This will be the second location in Oceanside, following a site at 212 South Coast Highway.
