Libera, a new wine bar concept, is expected to open later this year in the Ace Hotel at 20 West 29th Street.

The hotel already houses several restaurant and bar concepts including The Lobby, coffee concept Stumptown and Viennese restaurant Koloman.

The team behind Libera, which will be situated in the basement of the hotel, is the same team behind Koloman. Chef Markus Glocker and EHV International are behind the fine-dining concept that opened in 2022.

“Koloman bridges two worlds: turn of the century European cafe culture with the energy of today’s New York,” the Koloman website reads.

The menu at Koloman is inspired by Glocker’s Austrian roots, featuring menu items like oysters, duck liver parfait, beef paprikash and cheese souffle. It also serves a sizable wine list.

Libera’s Instagram announcement, a collection of vintage clips, appears to indicate a retro theme for the wine bar.

It will also have music and art, as well as vinyl DJ sets, according to Eater NY.
