Sunrise shopping center Sawgrass Mills will soon expand its restaurant roster with a new outpost of the iconic Tommy Bahama Marlin Bar. Related plans submitted to the Sunrise Community Development Department were approved at the end of May, according to recent coverage by the South Florida Business Journal.

The new location will encompass 8,500 square feet with an expected opening in 2025, the coverage says.

The Marlin Bar will be the brand’s fourth in South Florida, added to locations in Palm Beach Gardens, Dania Beach, and Fort Lauderdale.

The Fort Lauderdale location offers a selection of classic cocktails like the Mojito and the Mai Tai, along with concoctions like the Cucumber Smash (Hendrick’s, St-Germain Elderflower, Lime, Cucumber, Fever Tree Soda) and the Raspberry Jalapeño Paloma (Milagro Silver, Raspberry, Lime, Sugar Cane Syrup).

On the food side are handhelds like Blacked Mahi Mahi Tacos with tomato relish, chipotle aioli, Island Slaw, and lime sour cream; Nashville Hot Chicken Sliders, and the Chicken Poblano Quesadilla. There’s also a further selection of salads and flatbreads.

Opening at Sawgrass Mills, Tommy Bahama Marlin Bar will join restaurants like Yard House, Rainforest Cafe, Sabores LA, and Grand Lux Cafe.
