Michelin star Chef Daniel Boulud is bringing a new restaurant to downtown Manhattan. His restaurant group, The Dinex Group, filed a liquor license application for 5 Beekman St, a corner site in FiDi that last housed Augustine, Keith McNally’s French brasserie that closed down last year due to the impact of Covid.

The liquor license intel obtained by What Now New York did not reveal a name for the new Boulud eatery, but given the group’s reputation, it will surely not disappoint. The Dinex Group operates nine restaurants throughout Manhattan, many of which are Uptown.

Daniel, Chef Boulud’s Upper East Side restaurant has earned the coveted two-star Michelin rating, while Daniel Boulud Kitchen is a newer concept from the restaurant group, offering outdoor terrace dining or takeout from a weekly-changing menu of contemporary French classics. The Dinex Group also operates two locations of Epicerie Boulud, Chef Boulud’s eat-in/take-out market that serves baked goods, house-made charcuterie, and a selection of artisanal cheeses. And these really only cover a few of the chef’s concepts.

So, regardless of what exactly will open in the Beekman Hotel space at 5 Beekman St, you can rest assured the food will be well-crafted and delicious. An opening date has not been announced for the new eatery, but you can learn more by visiting Chef Boulud’s website.
