Deep Roots Winery, a family-owned craft winery, is leaving Denver’s RiNo district and relocating to Golden. The move, set to be completed by mid-January 2025, will see the business opening at 1375 Catamount Drive, the Denver Post reports.

Rising operating costs in the popular neighborhood were a big factor in the decision, made by owners Steve and Teara Walters. The Walters hope to grow their customer base slowly but steadily and expand their product offerings, especially their wines sourced from Colorado, California, and Washington.

“The move to Golden is driven in part by the increasing cost to operate in Denver and is aimed at maintaining the winery’s commitment to quality & affordability to our customers.  The lower operating costs of Golden enable us to reduce prices, providing greater value during these challenging economic times,” they told What Now Denver.

The 3,000-square-foot space in Golden promises sweeping views of the foothills and North Table Mountain. The facility will feature a main floor, mezzanine seating, and a spacious patio, and have expanded offerings, including hard ciders and lemonade wines. It will have a smaller staff, operating with just two part-time employees initially, and hiring two more in the summer.
