According to a recently submitted permit application, Korean hot dog brand Myungrang Hotdogs is expanding its Bay Area presence, planning to debut a new outpost in Berkeley.

Coming to 2519 Durant Avenue, the eatery will land near establishments such as Cafe Milano, Gypsy’s Trattoria Italiana, and Qargo Coffee.

What Now San Francisco contacted the location’s franchisee, Jonathan Truong, but he could not provide additional information before publication.

For readers who are unfamiliar with the company, Myungrang Hotdogs offers a brief introduction on its website: “Long awaited Myungrang-America is now in full operation. We are bringing the same ideas and traditions of what made Myungrang in Korea so popular here to the states. We started this by opening our showcase store located in Buena Park, The Source Mall.”

“Myungrang is a specialty brand of rice batter hotdogs making them chewy and crispy… Since the launch of our business in August 2016, we have 650 stores in operation nationwide,” the statement continues.

An opening date has not been announced yet, so stay tuned for updates.
