A coffee giant is eyeing prime Berks County real estate. A Starbucks is hoping to make its home at the southwest corner of Penn Avenue and Aspen Avenue, reports local media outlet 69 News.

The proposed Starbucks would occupy 2,400 square feet at the Members First Subdivision at 4620 Penn Avenue in South Heidelberg Township. C2C Design Group, the brains behind the building, presented plans at the South Heidelberg Township Planning Commission meeting for a Starbucks, complete with a drive-thru, for lot number one at the location.

The store still needs to receive township approval before ground can be broken. An opening date is not yet available for the coffee juggernaut.

If approved, Starbucks will be sharing the lot with a new Popeyes, currently under construction.

Starbucks has consistently dominated the coffee game since entering the scene in 1971 in Seattle.

The brand has expanded to include more than 35,000 locations worldwide. The quick-service cafe offers a wide array of both hot and cold coffee drinks. Additionally, the restaurant offers breakfast sandwiches and a range of bakery treats.
