Born in Mexico City, Zeru Restaurant is preparing to open its first international location in Brickell. A recent plan review gives the address 1395 Brickell Ave #180.

The restaurant offers a menu of dishes inspired by the Basque region with what recent coverage on Urbanologie.com calls a “refined interpretation.” The restaurant spaces, too, offer “bright, contemporary interiors where the design nods to earthy materials that perfectly merge the refined and the rustic.”

The flavors are characterized by the Basque region’s wood and charcoal grills, combined with San Sebastian-style tapas. One teased menu item is a “seafood fideua with alioli and line caught baby squid cooked in a sauce made with cuttlefish ink.”

What Now was unable to reach a representative of Grupo Zeru for comment this week. No opening date has been announced for the brand’s first international outpost, coming to Brickell.
