Tesla is expanding its South Florida footprint with a new showroom and service center coming to Kendall.
The electric vehicle company will open a 45,255-square-foot facility at 8789 SW 117th Avenue, on property owned by Kimco Realty at The Palms at Town & Country. The location is slated to open in late 2026.
The new Tesla will take over a former Toys “R” Us building across the street from the main shopping center. The toy retailer closed the location in 2018, leaving the sizable space vacant for years.
Unlike Tesla’s smaller mall showrooms, the Kendall location will combine a showroom with a service center, giving customers a place to see vehicles as well as have them serviced.
The new facility will expand Tesla’s presence in South Florida, where the company already operates locations at Aventura Mall, Dadeland Mall and Brickell City Centre.
Tesla joins a large mix of retailers and restaurants at The Palms at Town & Country, an 80-acre open-air shopping center at Kendall Drive and the Florida Turnpike. The center is home to retailers including Publix, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Nordstrom Rack, Total Wine & More, Barnes & Noble and Sephora, along with numerous restaurants.
