A new TopGolf location that opened at the end of 2023 and the adjacent Ambassador Town Center development are two of the biggest projects Lafayette has seen in recent years, and a Denny’s franchise had been associated with the latter project. But now, it appears the deal with Denny’s has been scuppered, and a Ruby Slipper Café will take its place at 4701 Ambassador Caffery Pkwy. The planned location of the popular New Orleans brunch franchise will be approximately 4,000 square feet and have a 1,300 square foot covered patio.

Earlier this year, a flagship location of the Ruby Slipper opened on Canal Street, as reported by What Now New Orleans. The opening of that location marked a comeback of sorts after the Hard Rock Hotel collapse in 2019 forced the company to close its Canal Street location. The reopening of that Ruby Slipper was also a milestone of sorts for a redevelopment project encompassing the entire block of Canal Street.
