The Ritz Bar and Lounge appears to be getting a new owner, according to liquor license paperwork filed with Community Board 4 this month.
Eric Hanninen has filed for a liquor license at 369 West 46th Street. Attached documents indicate that Hanninen is planning to purchase and revitalize the building and bar at the address.
The Ritz has operated in Hell’s Kitchen since 2006, owned by Tommy Greco and Jimmy Glenn. However, the building — including the bar — went on the market last year at a $6.5 million listing, according to W42ST.
According to the filed paperwork, it appears that Hanninen plans to keep The Ritz the same, with some planned updates to bring new energy to the space. He also is looking to provide daytime hours of operation.
The proposed menu includes appetizers like nacho plates; salads; and entrees like mac and cheese and pulled pork sandwiches. Across the basement and ground floor levels, the bar will have eight tables that will seat 50 and two bars that will seat 24. There is also a rear deck with 15 tables that will seat 24.
The proposed hours of operation are 4 p.m. to 4 a.m.
Hanninen has a background in civil engineering and currently holds no liquor licenses at other establishments. What Now New York could not obtain further comment prior to the time of publication.
