A local Japanese chain is preparing to make its Bartlett debut.

Tokyo Grill will open its tenth location at 6815 Stage Rd, taking over the 1,273-square-foot space formerly occupied by Las Palmitas Mexican Restaurant.

The first Tokyo Grill launched in East Memphis in 2011. Since then, the family-owned eatery has steadily expanded across Greater Memphis, with existing locations in Cordova, Midtown, and Southaven.

Known for its wide variety of affordable Japanese dishes, the menu features favorites like miso soup, sushi, hibachi vegetables, tempura, and fried rice. Owner Aaron Liu told What Now Memphis that the new Bartlett location will offer the same popular selections.

“Bartlett is a nice area,” said Liu. “We’re excited to bring some good food to the community.”

Tokyo Grill is expected to open in Bartlett in February 2025.
