A brand new bar called Randall’s Pub is looking to make its debut in Edgewater, located at 6341 N Clark St.
Although owners Randy Toledano and Juan Arellano hope to open the new bar in October 2022, the duo must first obtain a zoning change and lift a local liquor moratorium. The proposed bar will move into the former home of Parlour on Clark, a gay bar that opened in 2010. The business closed four years later, and the owners failed to sell due to said moratorium, which was instituted the year prior. The decision to lift will be made after next month’s community meeting.
Randall’s Pub will feature an outdoor area and shuffleboard and use some of the existing features left behind from Parlour, such as the wood bar. Toledano hopes this business will be more than a place to drink but a hub for the neighbors, he said at a meeting in early July. Randall’s Pub will be able to host private parties, fundraisers, and events, such as trivia and karaoke nights. Although the building received a new coat of blue paint last year, Toledano says he still wants to add a painting of the skyline to the facade, along with other additions.
“I want it to be a little bit different,” Toledano tells Block Club Chicago. “I’m more than happy to work with whoever … to provide a new destination for people to go to.”
Toledano, a 20-year Edgewater resident and longtime worker of the recently closed Pressure Billiards, will not seek a late-night license and will close at regular bar hours. If the owners are granted the rezoning and liquor license, they will have to compete with Whiskey Girl Tavern, which replaced Pressure Billards earlier this month.
