The fast-growing chicken chain Chick-fil-A is opening a new location in Wrigleyville, located at 3500 N. Clark St.
Originally, Culver’s was intended to move to this location but is now moving to 1111 W. Addison Street, which is a stone’s throw from Wrigley Field. The Culver’s will open after the building sells, with a current asking price set a little below $36 million. Now Chick-fil-A is set to move into the site once targeted by the Wisconsin-based burger franchise. Executive Director Amy Ahde tells What Now Chicago the new Wrigleyville Chick-fil-A will be owned and operated by franchisee Nick Pulgine.
There is no set opening date for the new Chick-fil-A, but signage posted in front of a vacant lot suggests Cubs fans won’t be able to get their hands on this delicious food until the end of this year or early 2023. This new restaurant is part of a broader transformation near Wrigley Field that includes a Movement climbing gym and Chase Bank branch. The project started with the opening of Hotel Zachary and Addison & Clark, a shopping center topped with apartments.
As for Culver’s, the new location will move around the corner into the former home of Taco Bell. Award-Winning Franchisee Baron Waller, who recently opened a location in Pullman, expects to open the new Wrigleyville location in Spring 2023. He is also opening a new location in Chicago’s Austin neighborhood by the fourth quarter of 2023. Waller has mentioned he plans to expand to the South Shore neighborhood on the Southeast Side, but the exact opening date is unknown.
