According to a recent liquor license, Sharpie’s aims to debut in the North Branch corridor at 1721 N Elston Avenue on the first and second floor.

Behind Sharpie’s are Scott Koehl and Ryan Blair. Scott stated that there is not much information he is able to share at this time upon What Now Chicago’s request.

According to an article from the Chicago Eater, Ryan and Scott are also behind Ada Street. Scott took over ownership of Ada Street in 2020.

Table 22 describes Ada Street, stating, “At the beloved Chicago institution, Chef Ryan Bair creates evolving new American-Mediterranean meals, and craft cocktails are served in a chic candlelit space with a lively patio. This swanky speakeasy-like space brags a killer bar program led by mixologist and owner Scott Koehl.”

For the property itself, according to Loop Net, the property was built in 2016 and boasts 3,754 square feet of space. Some of the highlights are a “Beautifully built out bar/restaurant space with open-air roof deck, lightly used, fully fixtured commercial kitchen with black iron in immaculate condition, and a 2nd floor built out as high-end office/event space with wet bar, full-sized fridge and conference space.”
