The undisputed king of Chinese-American fast-casual dining is preparing to feed Celina diners. Panda Express-beloved by millions for its orange chicken-is opening a new location in the neighborhood later this year, according to paperwork filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

The 2,697 square foot restaurant, set to open at Ownsby Parkway and Preston Road, will be a part of the Crossing at Moore Farm mixed-use development. According to the TDLR documents, construction began on the brand-new restaurant on May 1, 2024, and is set to conclude on May 1, 2025. While a precise opening date is not currently available for Celina’s inaugural Panda Express, this timeline suggests a summertime debut.

While this is Celina’s first Panda Express, the chain has a relatively prominent DFW footprint. The chain, founded in Glendale, California in 1983, made a quick name for itself through its distinctive, fast-casual take on Chinese favorites including Beijing beef and fan-favorite orange chicken. Panda Express currently has over 2,400 storefronts spread across the globe.
