Denver International Airport is adding 60,000 square feet of concessions to include new restaurants. Maria Empanada, which offers unique and flavorful empanadas made from scratch each day, is one restaurant that is part of the planned development.

The Maria Empanada location in Concourse A is tentatively scheduled to open sometime in 2023.

Maria Empanada has been expanding in recent months with one location in the works for Pearl St. in Boulder and another in Denver’s Berkeley neighborhood. There are currently two other Denver locations in operation—one on South Broadway and one on Platte—as well as a spot at the Stanley Marketplace in Aurora.

Maria Empanada’s artisan creations feature a variety of flavors. Guests can enjoy the Chicken Chimichurri with braised chicken, sautéed onions, red bell peppers, and an authentic Argentinian chimichurri sauce or the Beef Classico with ground Angus beer, red bell peppers, hard-boiled eggs, green onions, and green olives.

Breakfast and vegetarian options are also available along with home-made salsas and desserts, such as Pears in Marsala and the Alfajor, Maria Empanada’s signature shortbread cookie.
