From cracking a murder mystery to competing in a live game show, Denver residents will soon have two new ways to put their problem-solving skills to the test. The Escape Game and Great Big Game Show are joining forces for a new entertainment venue in the River North Art District, better known as RiNo.
The two concepts are planned for 2620 Walnut Street, in the former 10 Barrel Brewing space near F1 Arcade. According to the Denver Business Journal, the venue is targeting an opening in late October or early November 2026.
The 12,300-square-foot space will house six escape rooms and three game show rooms, along with a central lounge, mezzanine and patio. The venue will also have a private dining room for groups of 10 and event space that can accommodate gatherings of up to 150 people.
The Escape Game gives visitors the chance to step into a story and work together to complete a mission before time runs out. Its themed rooms include spy adventures, prison breaks, lost treasure hunts and murder mysteries. Each experience challenges players to search for clues, solve puzzles and work as a team.
Great Big Game Show takes a different approach, putting participants in a television-style competition with a live host. Groups face off in a series of mini-games that combine trivia, strategy, speed and luck. The experience is designed for groups of friends and families, as well as birthdays, corporate outings and team-building events.
The two concepts will share the RiNo venue, giving visitors the option to choose between immersive storytelling and friendly competition, or combine both experiences for a longer outing.
The Escape Game was founded in Nashville in 2014 by Mark Flint and brothers Jonathan and James Murrell. The company has since grown to more than 50 locations across the United States. Great Big Game Show launched in 2023, expanding the company’s entertainment offerings beyond escape rooms.
Both brands are backed by private-equity firm North Castle Partners, which acquired a majority stake in the business in 2017. The Denver location will be corporate-owned rather than franchised.
Jonathan Murrell, co-founder and chief marketing officer of The Escape Game, said in a statement reported by the Denver Business Journal that Denver had been on the company’s wish list for some time. The publication noted that the city’s appetite for active entertainment and RiNo’s lively mix of restaurants and businesses made the neighborhood a natural fit for the concepts.
An exact opening date has not yet been announced. The Escape Game’s official page currently lists the location as coming soon and invites visitors to sign up for grand-opening updates. For more information log on to www.theescapegame.com
