Tapas, sushi & sashimi concept Japango has long been a beloved restaurant on Boulder’s Pearl Street. Now, city records show the owners are planning a second iteration of the brand in Fort Collins, at 125 S. College Ave.

Permits filed with the city show the business is doing wall finishes, replacing plumbing fixtures, updating light fixtures, improving seating areas, as well as adding a new sushi bar, a small office, and a 113-square-foot patio outside of the building.

Located in Old Town, the 99-year-old property was formerly Mainline Ale House and The Rove. It was sold in February for $4.825 million to 125 S. College Ave FTC LLC, a corporation formed by Japango owner Jon Banis.

Japango is working with Rodwin Architecture and Swift Builders on the project, which has a listed job value of $425,000. The business was due to pay fees and taxes on June 6.
